Honda has earned its recent revenues from diesel versions of its
popular cars Honda City and Honda Amaze which have latest safety
features and electrical steering which allow smooth handling power. The
carmaker’s existing premium crossover car CR-V which till now was
available in only petrol versions will now be available in diesel
version too. This luxury petrol car has already been launched in
Australia and is priced a little steeply at 27 lakhs due to its spacious
interiors and great performance. The Honda CR-V diesel has a powerful
and fuel efficient engine which glides smoothly across most roads. The
diesel variant will also be available in existing attractive colors of
silver, metallic titanium, red, white and metallic brown.
Engine and Safety Specifications – The Honda CR-V diesel
version which was presented at recently held Geneva Motor Show in 2013
was powered by 1.6 liter earth dreams engine which has capacity of 116
bhp and 190Nm of torque. It is likely to be offered with manual
transmission option and will have four wheel drive version. The car’s
balance will be managed like petrol version with combination of
McPherson suspension struts, double wishbone and torsion anti-roll bar
with coil spring along with combination of disc and drum brakes. The car
will also be provided with six gears, power steering capable and AWD
system which will make it fuel efficient and powerful.
Interior Design – Honda CR- diesel car’s air conditioner and
heater have clean air filter to maintain air purity within enclosed
atmosphere. Interiors are upholstered in fine leather along with leather
covered steering wheel. Both front and rear seats can be electrically
adjusted while driver’s seat can be adjusted in eight ways according to
driver’s comfort. The dual zone air-conditioner can be managed by
touchscreen multimedia screen on console which also manages audio
controls, parking sensors and also navigational features. The car’s
insides have neat storage spaces to store sunglasses and other small
objects under front and rear seat armrests.
Exterior Features – Since Honda had designed this car designed
for European and American markets it has ensured that CR-V has
five-star safety rating making it fit for moving on roads across any
kind of weather conditions. The car’s rear and front bumpers are body
colored with neat small fog lamps below curved headlamps. The car has
powerful adjustable headlights cluster with bright fog lights on front
and rear bumpers to improve visibility during poor visibility weather
nights. Both front and rear windshields have rain sensitive wipers along
with automatic washer and defogger. Its powerful antenna acts as a rear
spoiler and compliments strong Xenon taillights making the car visible
from a long distance.
Safety Features – The Honda CR-V’s safety paraphernalia
includes standard features like multiple airbags, seat belts,
collapsible steering, engine stabilizer and combination of disc and drum
brakes. Honda CR-V also provides additional security against damage on
collision by side and front impact beams along with brake assist, ABS,
safety locks and stability control system. Honda has also fitted the car
with innovative trademarked Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACETM)
technology that distributes energy pressure in case of front impact
evenly throughout the car to avoid injury.
