Adding that no matter what happens, he will continue to respect him and love him for who he is.<br>Defending criticism about his lifestyle, the singer stated that everybody knows a lot about him and there is nothing for him to hide but needs privacy and as such, would like people to respect his privacy no matter how little it is.<br>Furthermore, reacting to the crisis of music promotion between him and female singer Saeon, Wizkid illustrated that some people make some mistakes in life forgetting how some people will come around to sleep at ones gate just to see the person. He stated that he is not a friend with the singer as she came begging for about a month before he decided to accept the collaboration and on naming his price, decided to give her a 10% discount off his normal fee.<br>Baseline talented female act, Seun Oni popularly known as Saeon, had recently displayed her displeasure over fellow singer, Wizkid’s inability to help promote her song after charging her to feature in the song.<br>Saeon who happened to be the first artiste to be signed by the record label, stated that she paid some folks 1.5million to feature in her song 'Boogie Down' but did not get a retweet of the song on tweeter. Nigerian Patient At Mandeville Hospital Had Food Poisoning - Doctor

Ebola: 600 Nigerian volunteers part of international response team

<p dir="ltr">             Abuja – The Coordinator, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Prof. Abdulsalami Nasidi, said more than 600 Nigerians registered as volunteers in the international team to control Ebola Virus Disease in West Africa.<br>He made the disclosure while fielding questions at the 2014 ministerial press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.</p><p dir="ltr">               He said the volunteers comprised health workers, journalists and others. Nasidi said Nigeria remained committed to supporting the control of Ebola spread in West Africa, hence the number of volunteers registered to join the fight against the disease.<br>The coordinator, however, did not give the exact date when the team would commence its assignment but said Nigeria was prepared to lead the international response team.<br>He said “I want to announce to this gathering that over 600 Nigerian doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, field epidemiologists and other categories of experts, including journalists, have registered to join the international team on Ebola.<br>“This strong team is an indication that Nigeria is committed to leading the fight against Ebola in West Africa.’’<br>                The NCDC coordinator said that the Federal Government’s Treatment and Research Group had helped in developing a national response plan, stressing that implementation of the plan would soon commence.<br>He added that the national plan was conceived to help Nigeria to prepare in the event of an outbreak of the disease in any part of the country.<br>According to him, Nigeria now has a strategic plan in place that will guide workers in controlling any outbreak of Ebola and other emerging diseases in the country.<br>                The coordinator said that the plan put together was in acknowledgement of the fact that Nigeria was still at risk of another outbreak of the disease.<br>He added that until the last reported case of Ebola in the world was brought under control, Nigeria would not relent in its efforts to combat the disease.<br>The Federal Government had offered the services of the coordinator of the NCDC to lead the international response team to other parts of West Africa. Mandeville Hospital Panic: Nigerian Man Turns Up With Fever, Vomiting

But within hours, Boko Haram had already broken the ceasefire, killing at least nine people in two attacks - one on the village of Abadam on Friday night, and another attack on the village of Dzur on Saturday morning.</p><p dir="ltr">"I can confirm that FG (the federal government) is working hard to meet its own part of the agreement so that the release of the abductees can be effected either on Monday or latest Tuesday next week," one source told Reuters by telephone</p><p dir="ltr"> <br>A second source said: "We have confidence in those we are negotiating with but we are still doing it with considerable caution."</p><p dir="ltr">The Bring Back Our Girls coalition in Abuja, the capital of Africa’s largest economy, added that they were waiting for official confirmation from the Nigerian president.</p><p dir="ltr">A senior source at the presidency told The Telegraph that the transfer of the abducted schoolgirls – whose kidnap in April sparked global outrage – could take place “as early as next week”.</p><p dir="ltr">The ceasefire announcement by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff came days after protesters marched in Abuja to mark the six-month anniversary of the girls’ abduction.</p><p dir="ltr">Armed gunmen from Boko Haram kidnapped nearly 300 teenagers from the Government Girls' Secondary School in Chibok in the northern Borno state.</p><p dir="ltr">The school had been closed for several weeks because of the security situation but the students had returned for exams.</p><p dir="ltr">Some managed to escape, but 219 are believed to remain in captivity.</p><p dir="ltr">But observers have expressed skepticism in the absence of a confirmed statement from Abubakar Shekau, the Islamist group’s leader.</p><p dir="ltr">The announcement also came as President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to launch his bid for reelection in the February polls.</p><p dir="ltr">Shekau last year dismissed a ceasefire deal announced by the Nigerian government, stating that whoever had negotiated it did not represent him.</p><p dir="ltr">In a video released by Boko Haram in May, Shekau claimed responsibility for the abductions and also threatened to “sell” the schoolgirls.</p><p dir="ltr">Nigerian government spokesman Mike Omeri acknowledged that there had been a false alarm about a deal with Boko Haram last year, but added that this ceasefire had been confirmed by both military and presidency officials.</p><p dir="ltr">“We are very sure that the path to peace has opened and are optimistic about the direction of discussions,” he told The Telegraph, in reference to ongoing talks between the government and the Islamist group, reportedly mediated by the Chadian president.</p><p dir="ltr">Mr Omeri also confirmed that the military have ceased operations against the extremists, amid speculation of a possible prisoner swap for the release of the schoolgirls and other Boko Haram hostages.</p><p dir="ltr">In the kidnapped girls’ hometown, reactions were muted, but hopeful.</p><p dir="ltr">"We don't know how true it is until we prove it," said Bana Lawan, chairman of Chibok Local Government Area, told the Associated Press.</p><p dir="ltr">"We will know the negotiations were successful when we see the girls physically. And then we will know it is true. And then we will celebrate." <p dir="ltr">Pro-gay groups slam the Vatican for backtracking on gays and divorcees, as Pope urges the church to accept 'change'.<br></p><p dir="ltr">Activists and human rights groups have lashed out at the Catholic Church's failure to open its doors to gay people, but praised Pope Francis for getting bishops to confront "taboos."</p><p dir="ltr">The spiritual leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics had called for the Church to take a more merciful approach to gays, unmarried mothers and remarried divorcees, but on Saturday, bishops failed to approve the section on ministering to gays, originally titled "welcoming homosexuals".</p><p dir="ltr">Gay activists were disappointed after hopes the left-leaning Pontiff would bring groundbreaking change at a conference of bishops.</p><p dir="ltr">The bishops failed to approve even a watered-down section on ministering to homosexuals that stripped away the welcoming tone of acceptance contained in the draft document. </p><p dir="ltr">The revised paragraph referred to homosexuality as one of the problems Catholic families have to confront.</p><p dir="ltr">"Once more, members of the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church have erred on the side of hypocrisy and fear," Lisbeth Melendez Rivera, from the prominent US gay group Human Rights Campaign told the AFP news agency.</p><p dir="ltr">But others saw pluses at the two-week assembly, known as a synod.</p><p dir="ltr">"Even if the text wasn't approved, and that is a shame, it will have effects. The debate will continue," Elisabeth Saint-Guily, the co-president of a Christian gay group in France said.</p><p dir="ltr">New challenges</p><p dir="ltr">Speaking at the ceremonial closing of the synod on Sunday, Pope Francis said the Church should not be afraid of change and new challenges.</p><p dir="ltr">"God is not afraid of new things. <p dir="ltr">According to AIT TV station, The National Universities Commission, NUC, has shut down nine universities in Nigeria for operating without legal licenses.<br><br></p><p dir="ltr">The publication of the affected institutions was published in the NUC weekly bulletin. Report says the Prof. Julius Okojie, the NUC’s executive secretary, signed the publication. He stated that the universities have been in existence for years and have just being extorting money from students who were given fake certificates.</p><p dir="ltr">The listed universities are those affected;</p><p dir="ltr">National University of Nigeria, Keffi (Nasarawa State);<br>North Central University, Otukpo (Benue State);<br>Christ Alive Christian Seminary and University, (Enugu state);<br>Richmond Open University, Arochukwu (Abia State) and<br>Saint Clements University, Iyin Ekiti (Ekiti State)<br>West Coast University, Umuahia, Volta University College, Aba, (Abia State) and the satellite campuses of Ambrose Ali University.</p><p dir="ltr">The publication also reveal that: “In addition to the closure, the following `Degree Mills’ are currently undergoing court actions; the purpose of these actions is to prosecute the proprietors and recover illegal fees and charges on subscribers.</p><p dir="ltr">“For the avoidance of doubt, anybody who patronizes or obtains any certificate from any of these illegal institutions does so at his or her own risk.</p><p dir="ltr">“Certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognized for the purposes of NYSC, employment and further studies.”</p><p dir="ltr">NUC also persuaded Nigerians to disconnect themselves from the institutions and their certificates.</p><p dir="ltr">While some are being closed, new private universities have been recommended to the president for approval.</p><p dir="ltr">NUC also stated that they are considering introduction of a pre-Doctoral Programme in the postgraduate studies in Nigerian universities. O. Imadegbelo, after examining all evidence brought against him, pronounced him guilty of rape and then sentenced him to life imprisonment.
